Ethiopia will offer scholarships in medical sciences to young South Sudanese – Prensa Latina

The Ethiopian ambassador in this capital, Nabil Mahdi, said that in addition to the 145 young people who got places to study in our country, others will be integrated, although he did not specify their number, nor what specialties they will take. .

This came during Mahdi’s meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of South Sudan, Deng Dao Deng, during which he discussed issues of bilateral interest and issues of regional importance.

During the meeting, the diplomat also touched on some of his nation’s main issues, including the status of negotiations with Egypt and Sudan on the Grand Renaissance Dam, and the situation in the regional state of Tigray.

Dao Deng welcomed the self-improvement opportunities for young people as a relief to the shortage of qualified professionals in this North African country.

He also congratulated the Ethiopian government “on the successful completion of the second round of filling the Great Dam,” a hydroelectric power project that, he said, “will also have tremendous benefits for neighboring countries.”

He also mentioned that the Government of South Sudan will intensify its efforts to face the challenges faced by Ethiopian investors in this region.
