The Faculty of Chemical Biosciences (FCQB) of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS) stands out again as an academic unit with more than 60 young talents participating in the Summer of Scientific and Technological Research in the Pacific (Delfín) 2024, and although researchers from the institution receive them in their own laboratories However, others also go to different study centers in the country, an extracurricular mission that is truly very enriching, as Oscar Daniel Arguelles López emphasized.

“The goal of young people doing this type of summer is to take a youth-first approach to scientific research. Additionally, young people connect what is the application of their knowledge in the classroom with what is considered more practical life, or more practical work when dealing with research projects.”

The coordinator for linking chemical and biological sciences stated that with all these measures of opening laboratories to young people interested in science, this is something that in the long run will lead to good results not only in the region but in the country since Mexico needs new researchers, and it is also good for those Who did not know that they loved it, and with the development of the scientific summer, they became interested in it.

For his part, the young student of the Genomic Biotechnology degree, Luis Eduardo González Zaldivar, who will spend his stay in one of the laboratories of the UAS Faculty of Biology, expressed his feelings: “I am very excited mainly because this opportunity that the university gives me to contact researchers is very interesting.” Because, ultimately, jobs are experiences that a person gains that will be useful throughout and at the end of their studies.”

It should be noted that the duration of Dolphin Summer is two months, and what the young people do is train with recognized researchers in their daily work, that is, in implementing a real research project. At the end of two months, they then prepare a report and prepare to participate in the national conference.
